We are over 1/2 way through another season of pancakes and fly -ins and things are going well at Aviation City. We have two 3 day weekend events left on the schedule this year. On February 17-19 the Millennial Wings will be here for their 2nd year at Aviation City. Last year they had 35 aircraft and 60 people on the campground with tents and had a great time. So this should be another great event. Don’t miss the Saturday All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast on Feb. 18 so you can see the campground full of airplanes and tents. (note: MW, please go to our site and register prior to Feb. 17 to reserve your spot for overnight camping by clicking Here now. Space is limited and this is a first come first reserved event.)
The following month, March 10-12, the RAF will be back at Aviation City for their 4th Annual Rodeo Weekend Fly-In/Camp-Out. This is the event that started it all and the Recreational Aviation Foundation has been a strong supporter of Friends of Arcadia Airport since the early days of our organization. They usually have pilots fly in from all over Florida and many other SE states. Pancake breakfast is on the 11th.
We are working on funding sources for restrooms and showers for Aviation City and will keep on it as we think the addition of showers and restrooms will allow us to attract more overnight visitors to the site.
We now have Aviation City hats and hope you will order yours now. Only $15 which includes shipping. Just send a check to Friends of Arcadia Airport at 2692 NE Hwy 70 #757 Arcadia, Fl. 34266
