GET YOUR HOT SHOWERS HERE !

March 16-18 is the Pioneer Day fly-in/camp-out and Aviation City is ready for the onslaught of planes & pilots. The new restroom/shower facility is operational and looking very impressive. We still have some landscaping to do but there is no hurry for that.
If you have not made your reservation yet to fly-in and camp-out please do so now. Go to our website at www.FoAA.us and click the ‘airport camping’ tab and then the ‘registration form’ to submit your request. Also see the ‘Aircraft Parking’ tab for diagrams for pancake day and campsite parking as well.
Friday March 16 will be arrival day and as usual we will make a pizza run about noon for the early arrivals. Saturday will kick off with our All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast. We have arranged for a private coach to transport visiting pilots free of charge to Veterans Park for Pioneer Days.
As usual we encourage you to bring your instruments for the impromptu sing-a-long around the campfire on Saturday night.
Don’t miss this first 3 day fly-in at Aviation City with the new restrooms and showers. Please plan to bring the whole family for this fun filled weekend.

Friends of Arcadia Airport, Inc. would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who donated to the capital campaign for the new restrooms and to all who have supported us since day one. We believe that Aviation City is the only such facility in the nation that has gone through an FAA process and been given the  “We have no objections” seal of approval.  This was after being told by the FAA to “cease and desist because airplane camping is not an approved aviation activity.” Friends is working with the FAA  and the AOPA to add language that recognizes airplane camping as an approved aviation activity.

We are making a difference here at Arcadia Municipal as well as at other GA airports who are following in our footsteps to develop similar “on airport” camping areas.

Hope to see you here March 16-18 for a great time at Aviation City.
