Pres. George Chase

George served in Viet Nam in the U.S. Army as Sgt. in charge of a 22 man airframe repair shop. Experience on AH-1 “Cobra”, UH-1 “Huey” both “Hogs & Slicks”, CH- 47 “Chinook” and OH-6 “Loach” helicopters. George has hangared his Experimental Light Sport plane at X06 for many years. He also served on the Airport Advisory Committee. George is also the AOPA Airport Support Network rep for Arcadia Municipal.  George and wife Joyce both give countless hours a month to the Friends organization.

Vice Pres.  Rickey Hilton

Rickey has been in the aviation industry for over 30 years, owned and operated flight schools (part 61 & 141) charter service (part 135) & maintenance shops. He is experienced in import & export procedures, I.C.A.O. & I.T.A.R. rules and regulations. He holds a commercial, flight instructor & mechanic certificates, with a single engine, multi engine, instrument, airframe & powerplant ratings with Inspectors Authorization.

Rickey currently owns and operates Wingman Aviation, an aircraft inspections, repair & consulting service located at Arcadia Municipal Airport.

Treasurer:  Ross Clark

Ross served in Viet Nam in 1968 and flew 2nd seat in a Grumman OV1 Mohawk as navigator and sensor operator. He served with the 244th SAC in CanTho, Viet Nam. He is currently learning to fly a light sport aircraft. Ross and wife Paige both contribute to the success of the organization.

Secretary: Dave Hutchinson

Dave has been a pilot since 1998 and flies a Cessna Skyhawk which he hangars at X06. Dave is also the founding member of the Aviation City Flying Club.

Board Member: Paul Moore

Paul has been flying since he turned 16. He holds a commercial certificate with single, multi-engine and instrument ratings and keeps his Flight Instruction Certificate current. Paul taught both his wife and son to fly. Currently he owns two airplanes, a 1946 Piper J3 Cub and a 1947 Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser. Paul not only serves on the Friends Board but is currently President and Treasurer of the Hopewell Air Park  ( 90NY ) in western New York State.  Paul and his wife Joan spend time in both New York and Arcadia, Fl,

Board Member: Doug Deal

Doug got his pilots license in 1972 and then added an instrument rating.  Doug and wife Sherry purchased their first plane in 1998, a Cherokee 180. Their last plane a Piper Arrow was purchased in 2002.  They enjoyed traveling as far as Arizona, & using it to commute between houses in North Carolina & Florida.   They manufactured party rental items & aircraft parts till turning the business over to their son. Both Doug and Sherry have been longtime supporters and donors to Friends.

 

All board members volunteer their services to the corporation. The corporation has no paid staff and all funds raised go to support general aviation promotional events, aviation education and related projects at Arcadia Airport.
